Playbook #112: Wind Farms

🖼️ The Big Picture

Vineyard Wind 1, the U.S’ first commercial-scale offshore wind project. 15 miles off the coast of Massachusetts, it will power over 400,000 homes and businesses and reduce carbon emissions by 1.6 million tons per year.

Wind power is on the rise, with big expectations for the coming decades. If you’re looking for an opportunity that aligns with the way the world is moving forward, and with massive upside potential and considerable tax incentives, then this might be the playbook you’ve been waiting for.

Between the U.S. government’s big vision of having wind account for 35% of all U.S. electricity by 2050, the rise of electric vehicles, and the worldwide drive to reduce carbon emissions to combat climate change… all the stars seem to point towards continued investment and growth in this industry.

There has been significant growth and innovation in this space for a long time, and new, large projects are already starting to come online to support a vision of increased reliance on wind power. As you see in the picture above, the U.S. is launching their first commercial offshore wind farm (to be completed sometime in 2023) — which is far more efficient than onshore wind farms and something that the UK are already using extensively.

The government is all in on wind power, offering a 30% tax credit incentivizing investors developing new wind farms. But as you can imagine, it’s no small undertaking to develop a wind farm, so while that’s one way to get involved… If your Investor DNA is more real estate focused then you could acquire land and lease it out to wind farms to generate a nice monthly income for your family.

There are many opportunities to not only grow your money, but do so with an investment that moves the world forward. So if your Investor DNA includes an interest or background in clean energy, then this is definitely a playbook you want to explore. Let’s dive in.
